GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

 

 

The DeSoto Parish School Board, in accordance with the regulations set forth by the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE), shall require students, in order to be eligible for graduation, to successfully complete at a minimum the requirements mandated by BESE and outlined in the Louisiana Handbook for School Administrators, Bulletin 741.  Such requirements include earning the minimum of Carnegie units of credits and passing all tests which BESE may require.  The School Board may impose additional requirements as it deems appropriate.

 

Special education students shall be eligible to receive a Certificate of Achievement by achieving certain competencies and completing all specified requirements outlined by BESE and any additional requirements the School Board may stipulate and include in the School Board’s Pupil Progression Plan.

 

EARLY GRADUATION

 

The School Board shall allow students to accelerate their academic progress, complete all state graduation requirements, and receive a high school diploma in less than four (4) years.
