GRADUATION EXERCISES

The DeSoto Parish School Board requires that high school students successfully complete all graduation requirements as prescribed by the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) in order to participate in the graduation ceremony and to be considered for class ranking, awards, honors and recognitions.  Such requirements include earning the minimum of Carnegie units of credits and passing all tests which BESE may require.

Students who have met all the requirements for graduation may apply to the principal of their school for early graduation.  The Superintendent or his/her designee will grant final approval before the principal will make application for the state diploma.

PARTICIPATION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENTS

Special Education students must meet all program requirements to receive a certificate of completion and participate in commencement exercises.
